Starting the Countdown!

Less than 8 weeks to go until our Little One arrives. We are so excited...I just hope that these last weeks don't drag on too much.

So a little update on things:

I really feel great! I can't complain about much. My energy level is a little lower than usual, but I guess that is to be expected. I have cut another 500 yards from my swimming routine, which was definitely necessary. I feel so incredibly slow in the water. Even the guy that is always guarding at the pool noticed it. The suit hickeys are becoming larger and more painful. Hmmm....you would think that I would get the hint to get a bigger suit.

Work is still going well. I am in the OR at least twice a week, and I really don't have any problems. It's just that I notice that I can't reach as far across the patient when I am prepping and draping the abdomen...especially when it's a LARGE abdomen.

I passed my glucose tolerance test with flying colors, and all other numbers (weight gain, fundal height, blood pressure, fetal heart rate, etc.) are all making my doctors very happy, which of course makes John and me very, VERY happy. Weight gain is about 22 pounds so far, but I have a feeling that is going to start accelerating very soon.

As per Sarah's request, here is a belly shot for you all:

This picture definitely doesn't do my boobs justice because they are HUGE! My attire is not very becoming, I am aware. But I was in the middle of cleaning and laundry and noticed that my belly was especially protrusive today. So I thought that I would take advantage of the view.

Everyone I encounter gives me their predictions for the sex of the baby, which is entertaining at times. Even Gabi gets in on it. She said that her Aunt Car was having a baby boy up until a few weeks ago. Now all she says that it is going to be a baby girl and her name is going to be Anna Lydia (which is the name of a little girl in her dance class). She is a funny one.

Feel free to share with me your predictions!

You look wonderful! And just wait...your boobs are going to get even bigger! I can't wait to hear if it is a boy or a girl. You look like you're carrying 'high' in the picture and 'they' say that's a sign of a boy. But who knows. Everyone thought I was having a boy and look at me. Having it be a surprise is SO much fun.

You probably will gain a lot of weight in the coming weeks. I packed it on in August and September. There was a two week period when I gained 10 pounds. It was out of control.

Glad you're still swimming and working. I'm so excited for you guys. And, I know you're not sharing names b/f the little one gets here, but I have to ask... have you decided on a boy and girl name yet?

Get some quality time in with John during these next few months.

XOXO

THANK YOU for the belly pic! I love it! You are adorable.

Nice rack too. :) Beck's right--you won't think it's possible, but they get WAY bigger. John was speechless when my milk came in.

Next up, I need pictures of the nursery. :)

we have a definite girl's name, but john is still indecisive on the boy's name, which is driving me crazy!

the nursery right now is painted and has a twin bed in it. the furniture should be here anyday...i was hoping that it would be here before the shower. we'll see. once we get it all situated, i will definitely share pictures!
